JUNK'S THOUGHTS - BKZZT JULY '22 ================================ My random thoughts about everyone else's BKZZT entries, in no particular order: GOURDI - Wow, holy crap. This was incredibly atmospheric with highly stylized graphics and great writing. I couldn't solve two of the puzzles, they were hard! Then again, I'm not great with puzzles so I guess that's to be expected. I'm impressed you made this in 2.4 hours, great job! serage - The tie to your word's definition felt pretty tenuous, but who cares? This is a really cool little puzzle, and I'm impressed you got it working so well in such a short amount of time! I wish there had been a proper #ENDGAME to indicate I had finished the game -- unless I missed something and there's more to it? BAILIAP - This is a really creative idea! Minimal but nice graphics. The drink descriptions and other writing are pretty funny, and got a couple chuckles out of me. Overall good stuff, but I guess my memory's terrible because I was *bad* at this game. EMISSIAN - Short and simple, but with great graphics and funny writing. 'ROAD CLOSED (IN TURKISH)' killed me. Emissian's design is adorable. An short but fun entry. hahol - Good graphics, and a fair amount of length for a BKZZT game! Gameplay is simple, but appropriate for a BKZZT. I'm not sure what happened towards the end -- were you running out of time? What is HAHOE? Why was Bill Watterson there? I have so many questions... PILEAD - The cutscenes were a nice touch, and well done given the time constraint. I think I broke the conveyor puzzle at the bottom, I was able to walk right in and grab the key without doing anything. The writing is silly but well-done. This was indeed a silly romp with some good humor, I enjoyed it. ZOLOTL - So many tree conversations! This is a cute little game with some fun writing. The graphics are simple but pleasant, with nice color choices. I feel a little bad for Keygan (getting smacked with a shovel seems unpleasant), but the writing here is great and got quite a few laughs out of me. Also, your biplane and dirigible D&D setting sounds *incredible*! mugboat - Yep, this is definitely a mugboat. I know it's only a single art board, but it is a very well-done art board. Good submission!
